Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/10/16

8/10 is the day of Wood Rat in the month of Fire Monkey. This is a harmonious combination. It favors the courage to stand up to challenges and do what is right.
This day is designated  inauspicious and stable. It means that if you undertake or start something today that is long lasting, it might become an insufferable bore.
Because the qi this day is weak, it is useless for major, stressful activities.
A stable day is normally ok for long range plans and projects, but you better be sure of yourself if you are starting out on something that will take a long time to complete. This day, however, is good for getting a new pet. It is not good for moving house unless you intend to move over and over again.
The lunar mansion this day is Ji, the Basket. It is good for all fengshui operations, especially aligning the door. It is good for debt collection, but it might be tedious if you try now. Ji is bad for marriage.
Rat, the sign of this day, is the Star of Romance for Pig, Rabbit, and Sheep. If you were born in a year or day of one of these signs, this is a good day for paying attention to your love affairs.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, and Dragon, this is a good day to get on with your career interests.
Rat favors Rat, Dragon, Monkey, Ox, and Pig; is neutral with Tiger, Snake, Rooster, and Dog; clashes with Rabbit and Horse; and is ambivalent toward Sheep.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 22, line 1.

Hexagram 22 is Pen, Grace. Success in small matters. It is favorable to do something.

Line 1 favors unassuming simplicity. Do not give yourself airs. The zodiaci sign of line 1, Rabbit, is weak by the element of the season, and, by the element of the hexagram, signifies power. It is best to be polite. Rabbit partially clashes with the signs of changing line, 4, clashes with the sign of the day, and is neutral toward the sign of the month. To stabilize, let go of tensions. The Wood of Wood Rat day puts a dragon in line 1. It is auspicious. The entire qi of the day is ease. Don't force anything. Good comes of itself. There is something serene in it.
