Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 5/9/18

5/9 is the day of Metal Ox in the lunar month of Fire Dragon. This is a harmonious combination.
This day is designated as dire and success. It is not good to begin any major undertaking today.
A success day is good for all (minor) undertakings.
The lunar mansion is Zhen, Carriage. This asterism is good for investing, but not good for traveling especially north.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this day favors creative work.
Ox, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Ox, Snake, Rooster, Pig, and Rat; neutral with Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Monkey, and Dog; and clashes with Horse, and Sheep.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 40, line 2.

Hexagram 40 is Jie, Loosening. The southwest (going among the people) is favorable. If going forward is not productive, come back. If going forward is necessary, early action brings good fortune.

Line 2 He slays three foxes in the field and receives a golden arrow. Righteousness brings good fortune. The zodiac signs of line 2 are Dragon and Tiger. By the element of the season, both are becoming weak. By the element of the hexagram, Dragon signifies money, Tiger signifies friends and colleagues. The harmony and discord is complex: Dragon clashes with the signs of changing lines, 1, and 6; Tiger is in harmony with them. Dragon is neutral with the sign of the day and clashes with the sign of the month; Tiger is neutral with the sign of the day and in harmony with the sign of the month. The sequence of elements shows no recognition of talent. The Metal of Metal Ox day puts a tortoise in line 2. The tortoise signifies secrecy and privacy.
