Daily I Ching: 7/23/14

This is a traditional method for deriving an I Ching reading from the Chinese calendar. The year, month, day, and first hour of this day reduced to an I Ching hexagram gives us hexagram 23, line 4.

Hexagram 23 is called Splitting Apart, meaning Peeling. It speaks of impermanence, the situation getting worse and worse. It is coming to the turning point. It is darkest before the dawn.

When things are at their worst, they will begin to improve. This is not a good time to go anywhere. The energy is getting dissipated. Best to be quiet for the time being.

The 4th line says good neutralizes evil. If you are in the midst of difficulties, renew your courage. Conditions will change.

In fengshui this hexagram points to the elements Earth and Metal, calling for simplification, order, and getting rid of useless things.
