8/7 marks the first day of autumn, in the Chinese calendar. It is a full moon, and the day of a lunar eclipse. Shar, or destructive Qi, is now found in the southeast, south, and southwest. Digging, planting, construction, and disturbing the ground in those areas is best avoided for the next few days. The element of the season of autumn changes to Metal.
It is believed that spirits of the dead come out this day, and that it is especially dangerous especially for children. Accidents and mishaps can happen. To calm the spirits, people made them offerings of food this day.
This is the day of Fire Tiger in the month of Earth Monkey. It is a harmonious combination, and favors speculation.
This day is designated as inauspicious and destructive. This is a bad day for all major activities. It can attract legal issues and loss of money.
A destruction day is good for demolition.

Rat is in harmony with the signs of changing line, 5, and in harmony with the signs of the day and month. The sequence of elements says holding virtue brings success.
