Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 7/5/16
7/5 is the day of Earth Rat in the month of Wood Sheep. This is a discordant combination. It favors diligence at work and competitiveness.
This day is designated as auspicious and initiating. For the most part it is a good day for starts. It is good for renovations, ground digging, opening something that previously had been sealed or stored away, and for starting new projects.
The lunar mansion of this day is Yi, the Wing. This is not good for fengshui, especially for making door alignments, also burials, marriage, moving house, traveling, and for beginning a new job or new position.
Rat, the sign of the day, is the Star of Romance for Pig, Rabbit, and Sheep. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for romantic affairs.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this is a good day for making progress in your career.
Rat favors Rat, Dragon, Monkey, Pig, and Ox; is neutral toward Tiger, Snake, Rooster, and Dog; clashes with Rabbit and Horse; and is ambivalent toward Sheep.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 29, line 6.
Hexagram 29 is Kan, the Abyss. If you are sincere, whatever you do works out. Success.
Line 6 Bound by ropes and restrained by thorns. Three years of failure. Bad luck. It warns against being heedless. The zodiac sign of line 6, Rat, is weak by the element of the season, and, by the element of the hexagram, signifies colleagues. Be aware, and conscientious with regard to other people. Rat is for the most part in harmony with the signs of changing lines, 3 and 4 and with the sign of the day, but clashes with the sign of the month. Great effort brings reward. If you are not cautious, however, you may run into trouble. The Earth of Earth Rat day puts a raven in line 6. There could be an argument or violent upset. Keep away from danger.
