Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/17/16

10/17 is the day of Water Monkey in the month of Earth Dog. This is a clashing combination. It favors speculation and courage to meet challenges.
This day is designated as auspicious and open. It is good for burial, but not for making renovations, getting married, moving house, or opening a new business due to the extreme yin of the day.
An open day is good for house warming, and for starting a new job.
The lunar mansion is Bi, Net, It brings about harmonious outcomes, and peaceful relations, and is good for most activities.
Monkey, the sign for the day, is the Traveling Star for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for clearing your home, making progress in your work, and traveling.
Monkey is harmonious with Monkey, Rat, Dragon, Rooster, and Dog; neutral toward Ox, Rabbit, Horse, and Sheep; and clashes with Pig, Tiger, and Snake.
The I Ching hexagram, using the King Wen method, is number 40, line 2.

Hexagram 40 is Jie, Deliverance. The image is a prisoner being released from jail.

Line 2 He kills three foxes in the field and receives a golden arrow. This means, he kills his fear, greed and ignorance. The golden arrow was highly prized, only awarded when something great had been done.
the zodiac sign for line 2 is Dragon. By the element of the season, it is weak. And by the element of the hexagram, it signifies money. Dragon is in a neutral relation to the signs of changing line, 4, in harmony with the sign of the day, and clashes with the sign of the month. Gold in the Earth. Profits ahead. The Water of Water Dragon day puts a dragon in line 2. This is auspicious. Carpe Diem.
