Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/1/18

8/1 is the day of Wood Ox in the lunar month of Earth Sheep. This is a clashing combination.
This day is designated as inauspicious and destruction. It is bad for starting any major undertaking.
A destruction day is good for demolitions and for surgical removals.
The lunar mansion is Zhen, Carriage. This is good for investments, and if you are seeking approval from someone. It is bad for traveling north.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this day is especially good for creative work.
Ox, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Ox, Snake, Rooster, Pig, and Rat; neutral with Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Monkey, and Dog; and clashes with Horse, and Sheep.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 54, line 3.

Hexagram 54 is GuiMei, The Marrying Maiden. Undertakings bring misfortune. Attempting progress is disadvantageous.

Line 3 Hold back. Wait for a more propitious time. The zodiac sign of line 3 is Ox. By the element of the season, Ox is weak. By the element of the hexagram, Ox signifies support. Ox is in harmony with the signs of changing lines, 4 and 6, and with the sign of the day, but clashes with the sign of the month. The sequence of elements says to regard the ancestors. The Wood of Wood Ox day puts an earthworm in line 3. You have to go slowly and deliberately, being mindful of any obstacle.
