Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/27/14
Today is 8/27, the day of Metal Horse in the month of Water Rooster, a somewhat harmonious combination that works especially well for those who are resourceful, and inventive. The combination brings out Competitive Deity. Competitive Deity favors those who are extrovert, individualistic, adventurous, decisive, and competitive, and who like to work independently. It is good for free-lancers. Horse is harmonious with Sheep, Tiger, Dog, Snake, Rabbit, and Dragon. Horse clashes with Horse, Ox, Rat, Monkey, Rooster, and Pig. Horse brings possibilities of romance to Rooster, Ox, and Snake. Horse gives power, independence, and the ability to lead, to Tiger, Horse, and Dog.
The hexagram for this day, according to the King Wen method, is number 10, line 5.
Hexagram 10 is Treading. Treading on the tail of the tiger, it doesn't bite. Success. Discriminate between high and low; what is best and what is worst. This hexagram is not favorable in fall season. We are in Chinese fall season. Watch for danger while maintaining a peaceful attitude.
Line 5 advises to be gentle, and to advance resolutely in the right time. Take a chance. The zodiac signs of line 5, a changing line, are Monkey and Rat. This is a harmonious combination. Line 5 is both supported and challenged by the signs of lines 2 and 4, the other changing lines, showing a disturbed condition. Line 5 clashes with the sign of the day, Horse, and is in harmony with the sign of the month, Monkey. This means that earlier difficulties will give way to ease. Wait for the right time to act.
The Metal of Metal Horse puts a worm in line 5. It advises you to be mindful of hindrances.
The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Metal, and Metal. This is highly productive. Success is attainable.
