Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/1/14
10/1 is the day of Wood Snake in the month of Wood Dog. This is a fairly harmonious combination that favors independence and focuses on finances.
Snake is in harmony with Snake, Rooster, Ox, Horse, Rabbit, Sheep, Dragon, and Dog, and is in discord with Pig, Monkey, Tiger, and Rat.
If you were born in the year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is a good day for traveling, rearranging your house, or taking a positive step forward in your career.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 39, line 4.
Hexagram 39 is Obstruction. The southwest is favored over northeast. Southwest is retreat; northeast is advance. If confronted with obstacles, step back, pause, review the entire situation, and make necessary corrections. Perseverance brings good fortune.
Line 4 advises bringing divergent elements together. The zodiac signs of line 4, Monkey and Horse are in discord with one another. It suggests inner conflict and the need to face a challenge in yourself. Wood Snake puts a snake in line 4. It points to something hidden in this. The zodiac signs of line 4 are partially in harmony with the signs of changing lines 3 and 5, and in partial harmony with the sign of this day, Snake, and in complete harmony with the sign of the month, Dog. This means that if you are dealing with obstacles, sort them out carefully. You will then be able to move forward successfully. Pay attention to details.
The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Earth, and Water. The elements are in confusion. Meditate.
