Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/16/17

8/16 is the day of Wood Pig in the month of Earth Monkey. This is a clashing combination. It favors political careers.
This day is designated as inauspicious and balancing. Surging Snake Star marks this day. There are dangers of legal problems, accidents and mishaps, and interference of petty minded individuals if you use the day for major activities. It is best avoided.
Balance day: Be careful of what hangs in the balance; be careful of what you get into.
The lunar mansion is Bi, Wall. It points to prosperity within limits. Do not travel south.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, it is a good day to clean your house and get organized.
Pig, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Rabbit, Sheep, Rat, Ox, and Tiger; neutral with Dragon, Horse, Rooster, and Dog; and clashes with Snake, Monkey, and Pig.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 48, line 5.

Hexagram 48 is Jing, the Well. The town may be changed but the well remains unchanged. It never increases or decreases. Those who come and go can draw from it. If the rope is too short or the bucket breaks before reaching the water, misfortune.

Line 5 If there are delays, improve yourself inwardly. The zodiac sign for line 5 is Dog. By the element of the season, Dog is strong. By the element of the hexagram, Dog signifies money. Dog is in harmony with the signs of changing lines, 1 and 3, and neutral with the signs of the day and month. The sequence of elements denotes disharmony. The Wood of Wood Pig day puts a tiger in line 5. Tiger signifies potential disaster. The watchword is caution.
