Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/13/18

1/13 is the day of Wood Snake in the lunar month of Water Rat. This is a harmonious combination.
This day is designated as inauspicious and stable. It is not good for any major undertaking.
Whatever is begun on a stable day will last long. This is a bad day to begin anything.
The lunar mansion is Liu, Willow. This is a bad asterism.
Snake, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Snake, Rooster, Ox, Horse, and Sheep; neutral with Dog, Rat, Rabbit, and Dragon; and clashes with Monkey, Pig, and Tiger.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 6, line 4.

Hexagram 6 is Song, Conflict. You may have good intentions, but find opposition. Stopping halfway brings good fortune. Pushing ahead brings disaster. It helps to consult with the superior man. It is not time to cross the great water.

Line 4 Conflict cannot be carried out successfully. So one retreats and carries out the divine will. This change of heart brings good fortune. The zodiac sign of line 4 is Horse. By the element of the season, Horse is weak. By the element of the hexagram, Horse signifies friends and colleagues. Horse is mostly neutral with the signs of changing lines, 3 and 5, harmonious with the sign of the day, and clashes with the sign of the month. The sequence of elements shows a situation stale mate; you can't go forward you can't go back. The Wood of Wood Snake day puts a snake in line 4. Pay attention to immediate details.
