Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/5/18

1/5 is the day of Fire Rooster in the lunar month of Water Rat. This is the first day of the final solar period of the year. In it are two fortnight periods called Lesser Cold and Greater Cold. The 3 Shars, or killing forces, are in the northeast, east, and southeast. Avoid digging or renovating in these directions to prevent harmful energies from being unleashed.
This day is designated as fair and successful. It is good for all major undertakings such as marriage, moving house, renovations, business openings, etc.
A success day is good for all activities.
The lunar mansion is Lou, Mound. This is a very positive asterism. It is good for everything.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this day is good for romance.
If youo were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this day is good to take initiative to move forward with your work.
Rooster, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Ox, Snake, Monkey, and Dragon; neutral with Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; clashes with Rabbit, and Rooster; and is ambivalent with Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 37, line 2.

Hexagram 37 is Jairen, Family. It is advantageous to be firm and correct.

Line 2 Attend to assigned duties meticulously. The zodiac sign of line 2 is Ox. By the element of the season, Ox is strong. By the element of the hexagram, Ox signifies money. Ox is in harmony with the signs of the day and month. The sequence of elements is productive. Be receptive. The Fire of Fire Rooster day puts an earthworm in line 2. This is a good time to address difficulties or obstacles.
