Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/17/16
12/17 is the day of Water Rooster in the month of Metal Rat. This is a harmonious combination. It favors independence.
This day is designated as inauspicious and receive. It is not good for such major activities as renovations, opening a business, travel, moving house, getting married, and so on.
A receive day is a good day to attain something, but not advisable to be around the sick unless you want to receive their illness.
The lunar mansion is Liu, Willow. This is not a good star for anything.
If you were born in a year, or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this is a good day for romance.
If you were born in a year, or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for making progress at work.
Rooster, the sign of this day, is in harmony with Ox, Snake, Monkey, and Dragon; neutral toward Rat, Pig, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; clashes with Rooster and Rabbit; and is ambivalent toward Dog.
The I Ching hexagram, using the King Wen method, is number 50, line 2.
Hexagram 50 is Ding, the Cauldron. The highest good fortune. Success.
Line 2 There is food in the cauldron. My fellows resent me, but can't hurt me. Good luck. The zodiac signs of line 2 are Pig and Horse. By the element of the season, Pig is strong, and Horse is weak. By the element of the hexagram, Pig signifies power, and Horse signifies colleagues. Pig and Horse are neutral toward the sign of the day. Pig is harmonious toward the sign of the month. Horse clashes with the sign of the month. Fire releases Metal generating Water. Good fortune. The Water of Water Rooster day puts a dragon in line 2. It is fortunate to take action.
