Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/8/17

10/8 begins the 9th solar month in the Chinese calendar. It puts the 3 shars, or destructive forces, in the northwest, north, and northeast. Do not renovate or dig in the ground for the time being, lest harmful energies are unleashed. The day is Earth Dragon in the lunar month of Earth Rooster. This is a harmonious combination. It favors creative talent.
This day is designated as dire and destructive. With Death and Emptiness Stars ruling this day, all major activities should not be undertaken.
A destruction day is good for demolitions.
The lunar mansion is Xu, Void. This is a star of illness. It is a purely negative star.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this day is good for creative work.
Dragon, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Monkey, Rat, Tiger, and Rooster; neutral with Snake, Horse, Sheep, Pig, and Ox; clashes with Dog, and Dragon; and is ambivalent with Rabbit.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 21, line 5.

Hexagram 21 is Heshi, Biting Through. Success. To put people in jail is good.

Line 5 He bites on dried meat and receives and yellow arrow. Constantly aware of danger. No blame. The zodiac signs of line 5 are Sheep and Monkey. By the element of the season, Sheep is weak and Monkey is strong. By the element of the hexagram, Sheep is money and Monkey is power. Sheep is neutral with the signs of the day and month. Monkey is in harmony with the signs of the day and month. The sequence of elements point to powerful generating forces.  The Earth of Earth Dragon day puts a dragon in line 5. Within a narrow scope, shown by this day, there is room for decisive action.
