Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 6/20/16
6/20 is the day of Water Rooster in the month of Wood Horse. The combination is harmonious, and favors those who are independent and good at speculating.
This is the Summer Solstice, called in Chinese '4 Separation Day.' There are three Shars, meaning three killing forces, in the north sector of heaven and earth. The advice is to avoid disturbing the ground by digging in it or doing any kind of construction in the northwest, north, or northeast for the time being unless you are looking for bad luck.
This day is designated as inauspicious and in the balance. Dark follows light. The day bears dangers of legal entanglements, and health warnings for the elderly and very young. The day is entirely inauspicious for any major activity. If the warnings are disregarded, you can activate the Qi to bring causes and conditions resulting in declining fortunes and poor growth of business over the coming months. Don't push anything today.
The day is bad for selfishness, aggressiveness, the need to control others, materialism, and hedonism.
The day is good for leisure, calmness, good financial managing, tact, and good social relations.
Rooster, the sign for this day, is the Star of Romance for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for romantic affairs.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for making good progress at work.
Rooster favors, Ox, Snake, Dragon, and Monkey; is neutral toward Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; clashes with Rooater and Rabbit; and is ambivalent toward Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 47, line 1.
Hexagram 47 is Kun, Oppression. Success in perseverance. The great person brings good luck. No blame. When you have something to say, no one believes you.
Line 1 advises against feeling discouraged. The zodiac sign for line 1, Tiger, is strong by the element of the season, and, by the element of the hexagram, signifies money. There is money to be made. Tiger is neutral toward the sign of the day, and in harmony with the sign of the month. The elements today are in precarious condition. The Water of Water Rooster day puts a tortoise in line 1. Don't stick your neck out.
