Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 9/23/16
9/23 is the day of Earth Monkey in the month of Fire Rooster. This is a harmonious combination. It contains an Academic Star, which in addition to favoring education, lets one turn difficult situations around. The combination also favors philanthropy, and artistic expression.
The day is designated as excellent and closed. It is good for travel, moving house, and launching a business.
A close day is generally not good for any activity of major personal or business interest.
The lunar mansion, this day, is Gui, Ghost. This is generally considered a bad star. Travel to the west is not good. The only good use for this mansion is burial.
Monkey, the sign of the day, is the Traveling Star for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for rearranging your home or business place, making progress in your career, and traveling.
Monkey is harmonious with Monkey, Dragon, Rat, Rooster, and Dog; is neutral toward Ox, Rabbit, Horse, and Sheep; and clashes with Pig, Tiger, and Snake.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 7, line 4.
Hexagram 7 is Shi, The Army. It takes persistance and a strong leader. Good fortune. No blame.
Line 4 Time to retreat. This is blameless. The zodiac signs of line four, Ox and Rooster, are harmonious, and are strong by the element of the season. By the element of the hexagram they signify power and intelligence. Ox and Rooster are in harmony with the signs of changing lines 2 and 6, and with the signs of the day and the month. Success is now attainable. The Earth of Earth Monkey day puts a tortoise in line 4. This says to keep to much yourself and to watch that no one wants to take unfair advantage of you. There is also danger of stealing.
