Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 5/4/17

5/4 is the day of Metal Rabbit in the lunar month of Wood Snake. This is a clashing combination. It favors civil service, government, administrative posts, and so on.
This day is designated as inauspicious and closed. It is unsuitable for all major activities, like renovations, marriage, moving house, and so on.
A close day is not good for any activity of great personal or business importance.
The lunar mansion is Jing, Well. This is best used for fengshui operations.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day for love.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is a good day for moving forward with work.
Rabbit, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Rabbit, Sheep, Pig, Tiger, and Dog; neutral with Snake, Horse, Monkey, and Ox; clashes with Rat and Rooster; and is ambivalent with Dragon.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 28, line 4.

Hexagram 28 is Daguo, Great Passing. The ridge poke sags to the breaking point. It is advantageous to have somewhere to go. Success.

Line 4 The ridgepole is arched. Good fortune. If independence is not exercised, humiliation. The zodiac signs for line 4 are Pig and Monkey. By the element of the season, Pig and Monkey are weak. By the element of the hexagram, Pig signifies support, and Monkey signifies power. Pig and Monkey clash. Pig is in harmony with the sign for the day and clashes with the sign for the month. Monkey is neutral with the sign for the day and clashes with the sign for the month. Interest determines success. The Metal of Metal Rabbit day puts a raven in line 4. The raven warns of envy and fighting.
