Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 5/5/17

5/5 is the first day of Chinese summer. It always coincides with 15 degrees Taurus, mid-point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. The combination of Water Dragon in the month of Wood Snake is harmonious. But the day is not. The 3 Shars (killing forces) are in the northeast, the east, and the southeast of your home or workplace. Do not dig the ground, or do any construction in this direction for at least three days to prevent unleashing the harmful energies of the 3 Shars.
This day is designated as fair and close. It is useful for small scale projects, but not for important matters such as marriage, starting new construction, opening a new business, moving house, and so on.
A close day is bad for any activity of great personal or business importance.
The lunar mansion is Gui, Ghost. This is an altogether negative star.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this is a good day for creative work.
Dragon, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Monkey, Rat, Tiger, and Rooster; neutral with Snake, Horse, Sheep, Pig, and Ox; clashes with Dog and Dragon; and is ambivalent with Rabbit.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 58, line 6.

Hexagram 58 is Dui, the Lake, or Joy. Success. Progress in firm correctness is favorable.

Line 6 Alluring joy. The zodiac sign for line 6 is Sheep. By the element of the season, Sheep is strong. By the element of the hexagram, Sheep signifies support. Sheep is neutral with the sign of the day and is in harmony with the sign of the month. Two Earths hide Fire. Hidden reserves. The Water of Water Dragon day puts a tiger in line 6. Be very cautious to avoid needless trouble.
