Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/3/16
1/3 is the day of Wood Monkey in the lunar month of Earth Rat. This is a partly discordant combination. It favors those who are giving, caring, peace loving, and inclined to spiritual practices. It also favors teachers, doctors, nurses, researchers, artists, magicians, and occultists.
Monkey is the Traveling Star for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day to move forward in your work, rearrange your home, move, or travel.
Monkey favors Monkey, Rat, Dragon, Rooster, and Dog; is neutral toward Ox, Rabbit, Horse, and Sheep; and clashes with Pig, Tiger, and Snake.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 10, line 5.
Hexagram 10 is Lu, Treading. Being prepared for danger is a good idea. You step on the tail of the tiger and it does not bite. Success. This hexagram is good in winter.
Line 5 Proceed resolutely with awareness of danger. The zodiac signs of line 5, Monkey and Sheep are neutral toward one another, but Sheep supports Monkey. They are weak by the season, and, by the hexagram, signify people with whom we share creative and business aims. Monkey and Sheep are in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1 and 3, and with the signs of the day and month. All goes well. The Wood of Wood Monkey day puts the tiger in line 5. Danger! If you don't know what you are doing you may get hurt. If you do, act directly without hesitating.
