Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 5/21/15

5/21 is the day of Fire Rooster in the month of Metal Snake. This is a partly discordant combination. It favors a competitive approach to making money, and a courageous approach to love. The combination contains a Knife Blade, an Academic Nobleman Star, and Tien Yi. It is extremely bright and can turn any situation around to advantage and favorably resolve any predicament. Avoid anger and jealousy.
Rooster is the Star of Romance for Monkey, Dragon, and Rat. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this is a good day for expressing your love.
Rooster is also the Commanding Star for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three this is a good day for taking initiative in your career.
Rooster generally favors Ox, Snake, Dragon, and Monkey; is neutral toward Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; clashes with Rooster and Rabbit; and is either good or bad with Dog depending on circumstances.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 39, line 4.

Hexagram 39 is Chien, Obstructions. The southwest is good, the northeast is not. Openness and honesty is favorable, putting up walls is not. It is good to see influential people. Perseverance brings good luck.

Line 4 advises harmonizing diverging tendencies. Seek common ground. The zodiac sign for line 4, Monkey, is in harmony with the signs of changing lines, 1, 3, and 6, is in harmony with the sign of the day, and clashes with the sign of the month. The Fire or Fire Rooster day puts a tiger in line 4. Wrong attitude will arouse poisonous emotions and cause injury.

The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Earth, and Water. Avoid gossip.
