Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 2/12/16

2/12 is the day of Wood Rat in the month of Metal Tiger. Wood Rat starts a new 60 day cycle in this astrological system. The combination of Wood Rat and Metal Tiger is partly discordant. It supports prosperity and favors independence.
Rat is the Commanding Star for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day to take charge and move forward in your career.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is a good day to pay attention to your love life.
Rat favors Rat, Dragon, Monkey, Ox, and Pig; is neutral toward Tiger, Snake, Rooster, and Dog; clashes with Rabbit and Horse; and is ambivalent toward Sheep.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 53, line 3.

Hexagram 53 is Jian, Progress, The maiden marries. Good luck. It is time to persevere. This hexagram is good in spring. We are in Chinese spring season.

Line 3 encourages us to learn from our mistakes, and not lose faith. The zodiac sign of line 3, Monkey, is weak by element of the season, and, by the element of the hexagram, signifies creative work, or business interests. Monkey is in harmony with the signs of changing line, 1, and with the sign of the day, but clashes with the sign of the month. With perseverance comes money. The Wood of Wood Rat day puts a worm in line 3, showing obstacles along the way.
