Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/7/17

11/7 is first day of winter in the Chinese calendar. It marks the 10th solar month, in which the three shars, or killing forces, are in the southwest, west, and northwest. Avoid renovating or digging in the ground in these directions to prevent harmful energies from being unleashed. The first day of winter is one of four extinction days.

This is the day of Earth Dog in the month of Metal Dog. It is a harmonious combination.
This day is designated as dire and closed. No major activities should be undertaken.
In a close day no activity of great personal or business significance should be undertaken.
The lunar mansion is Shi, Room. It signifies multiplication of assets.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day for creative work.
Dog, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Dog, Tiger, Horse, Rabbit, and Monkey; neutral with Pig, Rat, or Snake; clashes with Dragon, Ox, and Sheep; and is ambivalent with Rooster.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 9, line 1.

Hexagram 9 is Xiaoxu, Small Saving. Heavy clouds in the west, but no rain.

Line 1 Returning to the way cannot be wrong. The zodiac sign of line 1 is Rat. By the element of the season, Rat is strong. By the element of the hexagram, Rat signifies development of creative interest. Rat is in harmony with the signs of changing line, 6, and neutral with the sign of the day and month. The sequence of elements suggest to meditate. The Earth of Earth Dog day puts an earth worm in line 1. Earthworm denotes obstacles and hindrances.
