Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/7/17

12/7 is the day of Earth Dragon in the lunar month of Metal Pig. This is the first day of the 11th solar period. Its two fortnight periods are called greater snow and winter solstice. The three shars, or killing forces, are in the southeast, south, and southwest. Do not dig in the earth in this direction lest you release negative energies.
This day is designated as inauspicious and stable. It is only suitable for entering a new house. All other major activities should be avoided. A baby born on this day will have a prosperous life.
A stable day is good for starting something you want to last a long time.
The lunar mansion is Kui, Astride. A business begun this day can be plagued by legal problems and obstacles especially in early years.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this is a good day for creative work.
Dragon, the sign of the day, is in harmony with Monkey, Rat, Tiger, and Rooster; neutral with Snake, Horse, Sheep, Pig, and Ox; clashes with Dog and Dragon, and is ambivalent with Rabbit.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 9, line 1.

Hexagram 9 Xiaoxu, Small Power. Dense clouds in the west. No rain yet.

Line 1 Returning to the way. How is this blameworthy? Good fortune. The zodiac sign of line 1 is Rat. By the element of the day, Rat is strong. By the element of the hexagram, Rat signifies support. Rat is neutral with the sign of the day and in harmony with the sign of the month. The sequence of elements says to use great care. The Earth of Earth Dragon day puts an earthworm in line 1. Earthworm denotes an obstacle.
