Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/14/14

12/14 is the day of Earth Sheep in the month of Wood Pig. This is an essentially harmonious combination. It favors those who are hard working and practical, also those who are bright, optimistic, generous, and artistic.
Sheep is the Star of Arts for Rabbit, Pig, and Sheep. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for creative, or artistic work.
Sheep gets along easily with Sheep, Pig, Rabbit, Horse, Snake, and sometimes Rat; neutrally with Monkey, Rooster, Tiger, and Dragon; and poorly with Dog, Ox, and sometimes Rat.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method is number 40, line 2.

Hexagram 40 is Jie, or Deliverance. It is a time resolve struggles, and for letting new growth start. If the past couple of days have been difficult, ease up; it will take a turn for the better. Returning to ordinary conditions is favorable. If there is no longer anything to do, relaxing is favorable. If there is still something to be done, finish it.

Line 2 says, he slays three foxes and receives a golden arrow. This advises overcoming one's own ignorance, greed, and hatred. Yellow symbolizes equanimity. The arrow hits the center. It means taking a balanced position. The zodiac sign of line 2, Dragon is in favorable relation to the signs of the day and month. The Earth of Earth Sheep day puts a tiger in line 2. Even while all goes smoothly, if you conceal hatred, there will be danger of injury.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Water, and Wood. Water gives life to Wood. This is a time of new growth.
