12/7 is also the first day of the solar period of 7 Metal Star. This solar period lasts until January 6th. 7 Metal Star is called the Lake, the Mirror, and Joyousness. It favors all social affairs, the arts, glamour, and romance. It's nature is Venusian. Its color is red, and it rules wine and all pleasures. It is good for weddings. On a sober note, it advises paying attention to the details, especially when signing contracts. High hopes can be dashed when the illusion wears off.
Water Rat is a Knife Blade combination. It can become impatient and intolerant; not a good sign for one's partner or spouse. Water Rat, on the other hand, is a Peach Blossom combination. Peach Blossom is extremely charming, attractive, and seductive; it shines in social situations. Water Rat is also a Star of Kindness. Star of Kindness bestows good luck. Then again, Water Rat is a Red Light Star. Red Light Star spells trouble in romantic affairs. It's very fancy. Look out for jealousies. This is quite the day for romantic intrigue.
Rat is the Star of Romance for Pig, Rabbit, and Sheep. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a day to go out and enjoy yourself.

The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 42, line 3.
Hexagram 42 is Yi, or Increase, or Gain. Thunder and wind. It furthers to do something. It is good to cross the great water. Make sure you know who your friends are. There are three kinds of good friends: honest, understanding, and learned.
Line 3 says he gains through unfortunate circumstances not of his own making. You may benefit by apparently adverse conditions. The zodiac signs of line 3, Dragon and Monkey are in harmony with one another, are in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1 and 6, and are in harmony with the sign for the day, and in partial harmony with the sign for the month. The Water of Water Rat day puts a raven in line 3. Moving along blithely, be careful not to get into a fight.
The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. Friends come from all directions.
