Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/1/15

Happy New Year. May it bring us good luck.
1/1/15 is the day of Fire Ox in the month of Fire Rat. This combination is harmonious and has a competitive spirit. It favors those who courageously stand up to challenges and take the lead.
Ox is the Star of Arts for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this is a good day for you if you are engaged in artistic, or otherwise creative activity.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Rabbit, or Dragon this is a good day to enjoy solitude.
Ox gets along well with Ox, Snake, Rooster, Rat, and Pig; neutrally with Tiger, Rabbit, Monkey, and Dragon; and problematically with Horse, Sheep, and Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 32, line 3.

Hexagram 32 is Heng, Duration, or Constancy. Success. No blame. It is a good time to persevere and take action. This is good for lovers and married couples, but cautions against allowing for discord with in-laws.

Line 3 warns against vacillating and being inconsistent. The zodiac sign of line 3, Rooster, is in harmony with the sign for the day and the sign for the month. The Fire of Fire Ox day puts a snake in line 3. There is charm in concealment.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. The power of growth is strong. Friends come from all directions.
