Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 5/25/16

5/25 is the day of Fire Sheep in the month of Water Snake. This is a partly discordant combination. It favors independence and competitiveness, and, as it contains a Knife Blade, it warns of impatience and anger. This day has destructive energy. If you get caught up in it, it will bring bad luck.
This day is good for self-cultivation, social activities, looking your best and flirting; it is also good for privacy, secrecy, seeing the doctor, using medicine, retreating, meditating, studying, traveling, especially by water, creativity, and metaphysical work; it is also good for making fengshui adjustments, and burials. Fortunate directions today are north, northwest, and east.
This day is bad for theft, scams, lying, seduction, betrayal, self-indulgence, eating or drinking bad, or contaminated food or liquids, and beginning construction on new buildings. The unfavorable directions today are northeast and southwest.
Sheep, the sign of this day, is the Star of Art for Pig, Rabbit, and Sheep. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is an especially good day for you for creative work.
Sheep favors Sheep, Pig, Rabbit, Horse, and Snake; is neutral toward Monkey, Rooster, Tiger, and Dragon; clashes with Dog and Ox; and is ambivalent toward Rat.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 31, line 3.

Hexagram 31 is Xian, Influence. Success. It is time to persevere. It is good luck to marry.

Line 3 Don't cling, or slavishly follow other's ideas. Strive for independence. The zodiac sign of line 3, Monkey, is weak by the element of the season, and, by the element of the hexagram, signifies those who come around you, and those who are in competition with you. Monkey is partly harmonious and discordant with the signs of changing line, 4, is in harmony with the sign of the day, and in discord with the sign of the month. This is inauspicious, and can turn poisonous. The Fire of Fire Sheep day puts a snake in line 3. Be aware of what is hidden, and be guarded. Play close to the chest, and be careful of whom you confide in.
