Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 5/7/16
5/7 is the day of Earth Ox in the lunar month of Water Snake. This is the first full day of Water Snake month. For remarks about Water Snake month, see yesterday's blog article.
If you are looking to move house or start construction this month, try to avoid northeast, southwest, and northwest directions.
Earth Ox and Water snake make a partly discordant combination. It is good for research and investigation, but, because it contains a Knife Blade combination, it can also stir up impatience and cause anger and arguing. The day, nonetheless, brings success.
The day is generally good for divination, consulting with an astrologer, and seeing the doctor.
The day is not generally good for traveling, signing contracts, holding ceremonies, complaining, gossiping, and bickering.
Ox is the Star of Art for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for creative activity, and artistic work.
Ox favors Ox, Snake, Rooster, Rat, and Pig; is neutral toward Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, and Monkey; and clashes with Horse, Sheep, and Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 4, line 4
Hexagram 4 is Meng, the Fool. Success. I don't seek out the fool. The fool seeks me out. When he asks of the oracle, I tell him. If he asks the same thing two or three times, I stop. It is good to persevere toward your goals.
Line 4 advises against having pie in the sky dreams. The zodiac sign for line 4, Dog, is strong by the element of the season, and, by the element of the hexagram, signifies creative work, or business. Dog is in harmony with the signs of changing lines, 5 and 6, clashes with the sign of the day, and is in harmony with the sign of the month. The Earth of Earth Ox day puts a dragon in line 4. This is auspicious. There is strong creative energy in this. It's good for your work and business interests.
