Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/1/16

Happy New Year!
1/1/16 is the day of Water Horse in the lunar month of Earth Rat. These signs clash. The combination favors competitiveness, and points to the danger of sudden change and reversals. It is also a knife blade combination; it cautions against those who go to extremes of intolerance and anger.
Horse is the Star of Romance for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this could be a good day for romance, but, considering the combination, warns of lover's quarrels, or jealousy, and destructive passion.
Horse is also the Commanding Star for Tiger, Dog, and Horse. If you were born in a year or day of one of these signs, this day is best spent on making progress in creative areas, and avoiding conflict with others. Trying to force your way is ill advised.
Horse favors Dog, Tiger, Snake, and Sheep; is neutral toward Monkey, Rooster, Pig, Rabbit, and Dog; and clashes with Rat, Ox, and Horse.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 2, line 6.

Hexagram 2 is Kun, the Earth. The earth supports and contains everything. It is better to follow than to lead. Quiet work brings good fortune.

Line 6 Dragons fight in the field. They bleed black and yellow blood. The forces in the earth are in turmoil, violently upset. The zodiac sign for line 6, Rooster, is strong by the season, and, by the hexagram, represents creative interests. Rooster is neutral toward the signs of the day and month. It seems to be unconcerned. The Water of Water Horse day puts a tiger in line 6. Line 6 is an arrogant line. The tiger brings danger of injury. Whatever this has to do with, use caution.
