Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/18/17

1/18 is the day of Wood Snake in the month of Metal Ox. This is a clashing combination. It favors speculative professions like trading in stocks, bonds, futures, etc.
This day is designated as inauspicious and stable. Danger of gossip and slander. Bad for all major activities. This day is somewhat negative, but can be used if the birth chart (bazi) and the facing/sitting direction of one's property is good.
A stable day is a good day to start activities that have a long term aspect to them.
The lunar mansion is Zhen, Carriage. This is good for asset acquisition, investments, not good for traveling in north direction.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is going to be a busy day, good for making progress in your career, and travel.
Snake, the sign of this day, is in harmony with Snake, Rooster, Ox, Horse, and Sheep; neutral with Dog, Rat, Rabbit, and Dragon; and clashes with Monkey, Pig, and Tiger.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 63, line 3.

Hexagram 63 is Jiji, After Completion. Success in small things. Time to persevere. At the start good luck. At the end disorder.

Line 3 use only qualified people, and suitable ideas. The zodiac sign for line 3 is Pig. By the element of the season, Pig is strong. By the element of the hexagram, Pig represents colleagues. Pig is harmonious with the signs of changing line, 2, clashes with the sign of the day, and is in harmony with the sign of the month. Hidden assets may now be used when times change. The Wood of Wood Snake day puts a worm in line 3. If there are obstacles or hindrances, move slowly.
