Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/16/14

11/16 is the day of Metal Rabbit in the month of Wood Pig. This is a partially discordant combination that promotes creative, inventive, artistic activity focused on gaining money. The arts are favored especially.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is also a good day for romance.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is a good day for making progress in your career, especially if you are an artist.
If you were born in a year of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is not a particularly favorable time for important meetings or events. Wear something black and sit with your back to the north to mitigate shar (bad luck).
Rabbit gets along harmoniously with Rabbit, Sheep, Pig, Tiger, Dog, and sometimes Dragon; neutrally with Snake, Horse, Monkey, and Ox; and discordantly with Rat, Rooster, and sometimes Dragon.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 14, line 3.

Hexagram 14 is Da You, or Great Possession. The house is filled with riches. The sun is at high noon. Great success. This hexagram is good in winter.

Line 3 The prince presents his offering to the emperor. An ordinary man cannot do this. Superior persons know how to be successful. Indulging in airs is not the way. Trusting your intuition, be simple and careful. The astrological signs of line 3. Dragon and Horse are harmonious with one another, in a complex, fairly discordant relationship with changing lines 1, 4, and 6, and in a complex, partly harmonious relationship with the sign for the day, Rabbit, and partly discordant relationship with the sign for the month, Pig. The Metal of Metal Rabbit puts a dragon in line 3, an auspicious sign. Pursue your objectives very positively despite annoyances, distractions, and otherwise discordant conditions. Clear the way and act.

The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Metal, and Fire. The sun shines high up in the sky. Be firm and willing to act.
