Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/22/14

11/22 is new moon. In the Chinese lunar calendar it is the 2nd part of the intercalary period of Wood Pig that runs from 11/7 to 12/22.
11/22 is the day of Fire Rooster. The month is Wood Pig. This is a harmonious combination. It favors those who are independent, resourceful, and hard working. Fire Rooster is highly intelligent and perceptive, and brings help in time of need.
Rooster is also the Star of Romance for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for romantic affairs.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for taking charge and moving forward with your career interests.
For those born in a year of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is not the best day for important meetings or events. Better to lay low today and tomorrow. Wear something green to help mitigate shar (bad influences).
Rooster gets along harmoniously with Ox, Snake, Dragon, Monkey, and sometimes Dog; neutrally with Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; and discordantly with Rooster, Rabbit, and sometimes Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 20, line 4.

Hexagram 20 is Guan, or Observation, or Contemplation. The ablution has been made, but the offering has not yet been made. People look up to him with reverence. This is a time of anticipation. This hexagram is bad in winter. It is hard to wait.

Line 4 recommends patience, investigating, and looking over the situation with an open mind. If the financial situation is unsatisfactory, gains will come eventually. The zodiac sign of line 4, Sheep, is in harmony with the signs for the day and month, while the Fire of Fire Rooster day puts a tiger in line 4 warning of some danger. In spite of the hazards it pays to move forward.

The elements of this hexagram, Metal, Earth, and Wood, show the energy neither productive nor destructive.
