Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/10/14

11/10 is the day of Wood Rooster in the month of Wood Pig. This is a harmonious combination that mitigates otherwise negative influences. It also favors people engaged in independent investigative, and speculative activity, and psychic work.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this is a good day for romantic interests.
If you were born in a year or day of Rooster, Ox, or Snake, this is a good day to take positive steps in your career.
If you were born in a year of Rabbit, Sheep, or Pig, this is not the best day for important meetings or events. Wear something black to mitigate the shar (bad luck).
Rooster gets along harmoniously with Ox, Snake, Monkey, Dragon, and sometimes Dog; neutrally with Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; and discordantly with Rooster, Rabbit, and sometimes Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 51, line 6.

Hexagram 51 is Zhen, or Thunder. Success. The image is of shock, authority, and movement. Thunder terrifies people for a hundred miles around. He does not drop the sacrificial spoon and chalice; this symbolizes concentration. This hexagram is good in all seasons.

Line 6 advises not to overdo anything. If you try too hard you will only make matters worse. The zodiac signs of line 6, Dog and Dog are strong, and for the most part in harmony with the signs of changing lines 3 and 5. They clash with the sign for the day, Rooster, and are neutral with the sign for the month, Pig. The Wood of Wood Rooster puts a tortoise in line 6. It is best to be reserved and patient. Don't get carried away by distractions. Let whatever excitement happens pass. Keep cool and stay focused.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. Help comes from everywhere.
