Daily Chinese astrological I Ching blog: 10/8/14
10/8 is the day of Water Rat in the month of Wood Dog. It a big day. It is a lunar eclipse, and it begins the 9 Star solar period of 9 Fire Star. The lunar eclipse marks a turning point for good or ill. The 9 Fire Star period brings a lot of high energy, and extends to 11/7. The nature of 9 Fire is elusive and quick; things will tend to move fast. 9 Fire Star inspires competitiveness.
Water Rat day is a peak day. Energy is high. Combined with the lunar eclipse and the start of 9 Fire Star period, it is very high. It's a good day to do something positive for yourself. Water Rat is also a Knife Blade, or Star of Aggression. It cautions against intolerant, aggressive behavior, and warns of illness. Guard your health.
Water Rat in the month of Wood Dog is a harmonious combination. It strongly favors being courageous and creatively active.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is a good day for pursuing romantic interests.
If you were born in a year or day of Dragon, Monkey, or Rat, this is a good day for taking charge, and moving forward in your career, all the better if you are an independent entrepreneur.
Rat is in harmony with Rat, Dragon, Monkey, Ox, Tiger, Rooster, and Pig, and in varying degrees of discord with Rabbit, Horse, Sheep, Snake, and Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 33, line 2.
Hexagram 33 is Withdrawal or Yielding. Shun evil and follow the Way. Heaven rises above the mountain top. The mountain rises into heaven. Success. Persevere and pay attention to details.
Line 2 advises cooperating with those above and below. Persevere in what is superior. The zodiac sign of line 2, Horse, is in partial harmony with the signs of changing lines 3 and 4, clashes with the sign of the day, Rat, and is in strong harmony with the sign of the month, Dog. The Water of Water Rat puts a dragon in line 2. This is auspicious. If you persevere through difficulties you will meet with good fortune.
The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Earth, and Metal. Good spirits guide.
