Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/31/14
10/31 is the day of Wood Pig in the day of Wood Dog. Wood Pig is highly intelligent, extremely perceptive, and skillful, but tends to get anxious and worried over difficulties and obstacles, and can cause trouble, for that reason, in intimate relationships. The combination of Wood Pig and Wood Dog is harmonious. It favors independent, competitive, creative activity, focusing on money.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a day to be lively. It favors travel, rearranging your home and/or work place, and/or taking a positive step forward in your work.
Pig tells people born in the year of Tiger, Horse, and Dog to be patient. 10/31, 11/1, and 11/2 are not the best days for planning important meetings or events. If you must, wear something green and/or sit with your back to the east or southeast when in meetings to help mitigate the shar (bad luck). 10/31 is especially inauspicious, as Pig is also the Robbing Star for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year, or day, of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, keep your eyes open for possible of theft, either of money, material possessions, or of your idea. Someone could try to take credit for something you have done. The positive side of Robbing Star is that, if you are sharp, you may be able to take advantage of a fleeting opportunity. In any case, keep your eyes open.
Pig relates harmoniously with Rabbit, Sheep, Tiger, Rat, and Ox; neutrally with Dragon, Horse, Rooster, and Dog; and discordantly with Pig, Snake, and Monkey.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 31, line 3.
Hexagram 31 is Xian, or Influence. Success. It is time to persevere. This hexagram is good in spring, not so good in fall.
Line 3 advises striving for independence. Follow your own idea. The zodiac sign of line 3, Monkey, is discordant with the sign of the day, Pig, and in harmony with the sign of the month, Dog. The Wood of Wood Pig puts a worm in line 3, denoting an obstacle. Earlier difficulties, due to possible hindrances, will give way to good fortune. Persevere.
The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Earth, and Metal. Earth generates Metal on all sides, guided by good spirits. Good fortune.
