Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/23

10/23 - 10/24 marks a new moon, and solar eclipse. The new moon / solar eclipse registers in the Chinese calendar on 10/24. It starts an intercalary period in the Chinese calendar in which an adjustment between the lunar and solar calendars is made, and it is divided between Wood Dog and Wood Pig, the transition from the one to the other being on 11/7, the first day of Chinese winter season.
10/23 is the day of Fire Rabbit in the month of Wood Dog. This is a very harmonious combination that promotes independence and resourcefulness, and the expression of creative, or inventive talent.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day for you for developing a romantic interest.
If you were born in a year or day of Rabbit, Sheep, or Pig, this is a good day for you to take command of your situation and move forward in your career.
If you were born in the year of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, 10/23 and 10/24 is not a good time to make important meetings or events. If you must, wear something black and/or sit with your back to the north to mitigate the shar (bad luck).
Rabbit is harmonious with Rabbit, Sheep, Pig, Dog, Tiger, and sometimes Dragon, neutral with Snake, Horse, Monkey, and Ox, and discordant with Rooster, Rat, and sometimes Dragon.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 22, line 1.

Hexagram 22 is Grace. Success in small matters. It is good to have something to do. Simplicity is the height of grace.

Line 1 favors self-cultivation and willingness to take care of whatever needs to be done. The zodiac sign of line 1 is Rabbit. It is in strong harmony with the sign for the day, Rabbit, and the sign for the month, Dog. The Fire in Fire Rabbit puts a raven in line 1, warning against getting into needless arguments or gossiping. Be simple in setting things straight. Small disagreements or critical talk about others can get out of hand. You can sow the seeds of discord that way.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Fire, and Earth. Treasure buried in the ground will be revealed.
