Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/01/14

11/01 is the day of Fire Rat in the month of Wood Dog. Fire Rat, on the one hand, is good for new beginnings. But, on the other, it can bring up problems in relationships, especially with in-laws, not to mention marriage. The combination of Fire Rat and Wood Dog, however, mitigates negative influences and gives protection. The combination is harmonious. It favors drawing upon your resources, and using your creative talent to make money.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is a also good day for romance.
If you were born in a year or day of Rat, Monkey or Dragon, this is a good day to take a positive step forward in your work.
Rat is Heaven Medicine Star for Ox. If you were born in the year or day of Ox watch your health. If you are weak and prone to illness, it isn't good; be careful. If you are strong and well it is very good. Either way, this is a good day to consult an oracle.
If you were born in a year of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, 11/01 and 11/02 are not the most auspicious for holding important meetings or events. To mitigate the shar (bad luck) of these days, wear something green.
Rat relates harmoniously with Rat, Dragon, Monkey, Pig, Ox, and sometimes Sheep; neutrally with Tiger, Snake, Rooster, and Dog; and discordantly with Rabbit, Horse, and sometimes Sheep.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 3, line 2.

Hexagram 3 is Tun, or Difficult Beginnings. It represent things just starting to germinate. Persistance brings ultimate success. But you may need to hold off, and either look for help or get more information.

Line 2 says that if you are encountering difficulties, wait for conditions to change before acting. The zodiac sign for line 2, Snake, is in a harmonious relationship with the signs of the day and month, Rat and Dog. The Fire of Fire Rat puts a worm in line 3, denoting obstacles. Pay attention to details, and move carefully.

The elements of this hexagram are Water, Wood, and Water. Water generates Wood from all sides. Harness your resources for success.
