Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/17/14
10/17 is the day of Metal Rooster in the month of Wood dog. This is a discordant combination that favors being inventive, creative, and resourceful in making money. Creativity is its best quality.
Metal Rooster has much to tell us. It is called a Star of Prospects. Star of Prospects makes money, best, independently, but it can arouse rivalry.
Metal Rooster is a Peach Blossom Star. It encourages social activity, and has strongly seductive qualities.
Metal Rooster is also a Red Light Star and Yin Mismatch Star. It can cause problematic romantic situations, and can cause problems in marriage and with in-laws.
Rooster is the Star of Romance for people born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon.
Rooster is the Commanding Star for Snake, Rooster, or Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for you to take positive steps forward in your life's interests and career.
Rooster tells people born in a year of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep that 10/17 and 10/18 are not the best days for planning important events. But, if you do, be sure to wear something black to mitigate the shar (bad luck) of the day.
Rooster is harmonious with Ox, Snake, Dragon, Monkey, and sometimes with Dog, okay with Rat, Tiger, Horse, Sheep, and Pig, and discordant with Rooster, Rabbit, and sometimes with Dog.
Rooster day in Dog month brings out Heavenly Medicine Star. It it is bad for people who are weak, and good for people who are strong. It generally advises to take care of your health, and makes this a good day for consulting an oracle for looking into personal questions.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 42, line 3.
Hexagram 42 is Increase. It is good to have a goal and to cross the great water. This hexagram is not best in fall, however.
Line 3 advises being sincere, and says that you can turn adversity to your advantage. The zodiac sign of line 3, Dragon is in partial harmony with the signs of changing lines 4, 5, and 6. It is then in harmony with the sign of the day, Rooster, and disharmony with the sign of the month, Dog. The Metal of Metal Rooster puts a dragon in line 3. It says if you seek to increase yourself along with others it is very good, but of you are only looking out for yourself at the expense of others you will meet with opposition.
The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. Support comes from many sources.
