Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/14/14
11/14 is the day of Earth Ox in the month of Wood Pig. This is a partly discordant combination that generally favors people who are independent, honest, hardworking, and intent on making money. It promotes wealth and good fortune. Earth Ox has a sharp mind and excels at studies, but can become anxious in face of difficulties and obstacles, and troubled in personal relationships.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for creative, inventive, or artistic activity.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Rabbit, or Dragon, this is a good day to rely on yourself and enjoy solitude.
If you were born in a year of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is not the best day for important meetings or events. Wear something green to mitigate the shar (bad luck) of this day.
Ox gets along harmoniously with Ox, Snake, Rooster, Rat, and Pig; neutrally with Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, and Monkey; and discordantly with Horse, Sheep, and Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 5, line 4.
Hexagram 5 is Xu, or Waiting. Clouds build up, but no rain yet. If you are sincere and persevere, success will come. This hexagram is good in winter.
Line 4 advises, if up against obstacles, to hold back and reorganize. The zodiac sign of line 4, Monkey, is in partial harmony with the signs of changing lines, 2 and 5, and in harmony with the sign for the day, Ox, and discord with the sign for the month, Pig. The Earth of Earth Ox puts a dragon in line 4. This is lucky. Deal constructively with whatever problems you have now.
The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Metal, and Water. The elements are in a productive relationship. The way of Nature is to resolve relations in order to move forward. Let Nature take its course.
