Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/06/14
11/06 is the day of Metal Snake in the month of Wood Dog. This is the last day of Chinese fall season. 11/07 is a full moon, and begins winter and the intercalary month of Wood Pig. So we are in transition now.
Metal Snake is highly intellectual and excels academically. The combination of Metal Snake with Wood Dog is partially discordant. It favors independence, orderliness, endurance, caring for others, and pursuing interests in religion, metaphysics, writing, publishing, and the arts.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, this is a good day for travel, rearranging or fixing up the house or workplace, and for taking a step forward in your career.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Rabbit, or Dragon, this is a good day to rely on yourself and enjoy solitude. If you were born in a year of Tiger, Rabbit, or Dragon this is not the best day for having meetings or events. Wear something black to mitigate the shar (negative influences) of the day.
Snake is Robbing Star for Rat, Dragon, and Monkey. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three, this is a good day to seize a good opportunity. It is also good to watch out that you are not robbed, not necessarily literally.
Snake gets along harmoniously with Snake, Rooster, Ox, Horse, and Sheep; neutrally with Dog, Rat, Rabbit, and Dragon; and disharmoniously with Monkey, Pig, and Tiger.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 3, line 2.
Hexagram 3 is Tun, or Difficulty in the Beginning. It represents the earliest stage of germination. Success ultimately comes. Get helpers, or pull your resources together before acting. This hexagram is good in fall.
Line 2 says it is good to wait a while, and let nature take its course. The zodiac signs of line 2, Tiger and Rabbit are in harmony with one another; in partial harmony with the signs of changing line, 4; in partial harmony with the sign of the day, Snake; and in partial harmony with the sign of the month, Dog. The Metal of Metal Snake puts a tortoise in line 2. It pays to proceed slowly, being aware of difficulties, being taciturn, and watching out for possible theft.
The elements of this hexagram are Water, Wood, and Water. Wood is nourished on all sides. Draw upon your resources.
