Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/18/14

11/18 is the day of Water Snake in the month of Wood Pig. This is a partially harmonious combination that favors those who are competitive, talented, and focused on making money. This is also a knife blade combination. It can bring out obstinate, intolerant, and aggressive behavior, and cause conflict in relationships. But, it does bring help in difficulties.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day to travel, rearrange your home or work environment, and take a positive step forward in your career.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Rabbit, or Dragon, better rely on yourself today. Enjoy your solitude.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day to use your planning abilities. Act courageously, but avoid getting into arguments or legal disputes.
If you were born in a year of Rat, Dragon, or Monkey this is not the best day for important events or meetings. Take advantage of an opportunity that comes your way, however. Keep your eye peeled for possible theft, whether material or of ideas.
Snake gets along harmoniously with Snake, Rooster, Ox, Horse, and Sheep; neutrally with Dog, Rat, Rabbit, and Dragon; and discordantly with Monkey, Pig, and Tiger.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 4, line 4.

Hexagram 4 is the Undeveloped. It symbolizes things at the beginning of development. Don't beg questions foolishly. Persist in your goals. This hexagram has difficulties in winter.

Line 4 says that obstinacy brings humiliation. The astrological signs of line 4, Dog and Horse, are in harmony with one another and combine harmoniously with the signs of changing lines 3 and 5 as well as with the sign of the day, Snake, but are in partial discord with the sign of the month, Pig. The Water of Water Snake puts a worm in line 4. If there is an obstacle, it needs to be dealt with. Proceed patiently.

The elements of this hexagram are Fire, Water, and Earth. Water can be brought up from within the earth and boiled over fire. Laying back allows for destructive influences. Be productive. Do not oppose.
