Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/12/14

11/12 is the day of Fire Pig in the month of Wood Pig. This is a lively, partly harmonious, partly turbulent combination that calls for resourcefulness and courage. It can cause anxiety due to obstacles or difficulties, but attracts assistance from mentors. In other words, if you find yourself in trouble, get help, either from another person or from spirit.
Fire Pig brings out the star of Tien Yi. Tien Yi is a deity whom all demons fear. She resolves most predicaments, and wards off bad luck.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for travel, making changes at home or work.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rooster, or Dog, this is a good day to work alone, and enjoy solitude.
If you were born in a year of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, Pig lends you courage and favors your planning abilities, but warns against forcing legal action and getting involved in legal disputes.
If you were born in a year of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is not a good day for important meetings or events. Wear something green to mitigate the shar (bad luck). Also, if you were born in the year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, be on the lookout for potential loss or theft, not necessarily literal.
Pig gets along harmoniously with Rabbit, Sheep, Rat, Ox, and Tiger; neutrally with Dragon, Horse, Rooster, and Dog; and discordantly with Pig, Snake, and Monkey.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 53, line 3.

Hexagram 53 is Jian, or Gradual Development. Small things accumulate to become large. Progress is made toward marriage. Persevere. Good luck. This hexagram is bad in winter. We are in Chinese winter season. If you are ill, this is a bad omen. Seek help.

Line 3 warns against trying to obtain things by force. Wait for a better time. The zodiac sign of line 3, Monkey, is in partial harmony with the signs of changing lines 2 and 5, and clashes with the sign of the day and month, Pig. The Fire of Fire Pig puts a snake in line 3. There is something hidden. Beware. Trying to force progress now is a bad idea. Be patient.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Earth, and Wood. The earth bears up the trees. Be industrious.
