Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 11/07/14

11/07 is the first day of Chinese winter season. It is the day of Water Horse. This is also the transitional day in the intercalary month of the lunar calendar that begins the period of Wood Pig, running until 12/22. This is also the day of the full moon, making it a turning point for the world. The star that marks the season change is 8 Earth, or Mountain. Its nature is practical, secretive, strong-willed, aspiring, stubborn, deeply conservative, and adventurous. It aims high, rises up, and contains wealth.
Wood Pig is an auspicious star called Heaven Virtue. It favors being kind-hearted, down to earth, quiet, and virtuous. It eases conflicts, and favors marriage.
The combination of Water Horse with Wood Pig is partly harmonious. It brings out the Star of Prosperity, and favors independent, creative professional activity.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for romantic pursuits.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day to make positive steps forward in your career.
If you were born in a year of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon this is not the best day for important meetings or events. Wear something green to mitigate any shar (bad luck).
Horse gets along harmoniously with Dog, Tiger, Sheep, and Snake; neutrally with Monkey, Rooster, Pig, Rabbit, and Dragon; and disharmoniously with Horse, Rat, and Ox.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 52, line 6.

Hexagram 52 is Yin, or the Mountain. What rises up gets higher and higher step by step. Keeping his back still like a mountain so he no longer feels his body, he goes into his courtyard and no longer notices his fellows. No blame. This hexagram is a guide for cultivating and concentrating Chi. The hexagram is good in winter. It means calmness.

Line 6 favors maintaining an attitude of tranquility and stillness. The zodiac sign of line 6, Tiger, is in harmony with the signs of changing line, 4; in harmony with the sign of the day, Horse, and in harmony with the sign for the month, Pig. The Water of Water Horse puts a tiger in line 6. Tiger is fierce and dangerous. Be calm in face of potential disturbances.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Earth, and Earth. The power of Earth is very strong. Remember your foundation, what holds you up, and your ancestors.
