Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/16/15

1/16 is the day of Water Dragon in the month of Fire Rat. This is a partly discordant combination. It favors those who are competitive. It also can act destructively toward relationships, causing trouble in romantic affairs, in marriage, and in relations with in-laws. Nonetheless, it does allow one to escape potential disaster. The energy is tense, and can trigger anger.
Dragon is the Star of Arts for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for creative, artistic work.
Dragon gets along well with Monkey, Rat, Rooster, Tiger, and sometimes Rabbit; neutrally with Snake, Horse, Sheep, Pig, and Ox; and problematically with Dragon, Dog, and sometimes Rabbit.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 57, line 6.

Hexagram 57 is Sun, Wind. Success through what is small. It is good to actively pursue your goals and to seek the help of an expert, if needed. This hexagram is good in winter.

Line 6 advises being decisive and not wasting time looking for alternative possibilities. The zodiac sign of line 6, Rabbit, is in partial discord with the signs of changing lines 2, 4, and 5, and clashes with the signs for the day and month. The Water of Water Dragon day puts a tiger in line 6. Acting out of confusion is asking for a disaster.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. Help comes from many directions.
