Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/4/15

1/4 is the day of Metal Dragon in the month of Fire Rat. This is a partly discordant combination. It favors those who are talented and artistic. Metal Dragon aims for success and recognition.
Dragon is the Star of Arts for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these signs, this is a good day for creative, artistic activity.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Horse, or Sheep, this is a good day for relying on yourself and enjoying solitude.
Dragon gets along well with Monkey, Rat, Rooster, Tiger and sometimes Rabbit; neutrally with Snake, Horse, Sheep, Pig, Rat, and Ox; and problematically with Dragon, Dog, and sometimes Rabbit.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 6, line 4.

Hexagram 6 is Song, Conflict. Your intentions may be good, but you encounter opposition. Stopping half way brings good fortune, but trying to force your way brings disaster. It is not time to cross the great water. It helps to see an influential person. This hexagram is bad in winter.

Line 4 says if you are in any conflict it cannot be carried out successfully today. It is better to bide your time calmly; let it ride. The zodiac signs for line 4, Horse and Sheep, are in harmony with each other, in harmony with the sign for the day, and clash with the sign for the month. The Metal of Metal Dragon day puts a raven in line 4. Going too far brings out the possibility of a fight. Beware of getting into an argument.

The elements of this hexagram are Fire, Water, and Metal. The elements are in confusion. Be patient.
