Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/17/16

8/17 is the day of Metal Sheep in the month of Fire Monkey. This is a clash combination, and it contains a Knife Blade star, warning of anger and violence. The combination also favors independence and competitiveness.
This day is designated as auspicious and close. All's well that ends well. This day is otherwise good for small scale activities and normal, everyday routines.
The qi of a close day is at its lowest point in a 12 day cycle. It is bad for starting anything of great personal or professional importance.
The lunar mansion this day is Bi, Wall. It is positive and favors making money. It is bad for traveling to the south.
Sheep, the sign of this day, is the Star of Art for Rabbit, Sheep, and Pig. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for creative work.
Sheep favors Sheep, Pig, Rabbit, Horse, and Snake; is neutral toward Monkey, Rooster, Tiger, and Dragon; clashes with Ox and Dog; and is ambivalent toward Rat.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 16, line 1.

Hexagram 16 is Yu, Joy. It is time to get helpers.

Line 1 Over enthusiasm and boasting brings bad luck. The zodiac signs of line 1, Sheep and Rat, clash. Sheep is weak and Rat is strong by the season element, and, by the element of the hexagram, represent money and resources. Sheep and Rat are partly in harmony with the sign of the day, and are in harmony with the sign of the month. It is important to meditate and return to what is essential. The Metal of Metal Sheep day puts a tiger in line 1. This is dangerous if you are unaware and distracted. It signifies disaster. It is bad for risk taking.
