Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/23/16

8/23 is the day of Fire Ox in the month of Fire Monkey. This is a harmonious combination. It favors diligence at work and careful management of money. The day is just good for ordinary work.
This day is designated as dire and initiate. It is bad for starting anything. It is bad for all important activities, as the qi of this day can cause loses of money and injuries.
An initiate day is normally a day to start things, especially important things, but not today, especially because tomorrow is a destruct day, and anything started today not only won't work, but can bring you into danger.
The lunar mansion this day is Zui, the Beak. It is also extremely negative. Nothing good can come of starting any major activity today.
Ox, the sign for this day, is the Star of Art for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, and are an artist or inventor, this is a good day to pay attention to your work.
Ox favors Ox, Snake, Rooster, Rat, and Pig; is neutral toward Dragon, Tiger, Rabbit, and Monkey; and clashes with Horse, Sheep, and Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 52, line 6.

Hexagram 52 is Ken, Keeping Still. He keeps his back still so he does not feel his body. He goes into his courtyard and does not see his people. No blame.

Line 6 Keeping still like a mountain in a noble way. Good fortune. The zodiac signs of line 6, Tiger and Rat, are in harmony with one another, and, by the season element, are weak. By the element of the hexagram, Tiger and Rat signify power and money. Tiger and Rat are in harmony with the signs of changing line, 5, and clash with the signs of the day and month. Avoid indecision and vacillation. Stay focused. If you know what you have to do, do it. The Fire of Fire Ox day puts a dragon in line 6. It favors positive action. Arrogant disregard for the nature of the time, however, will precipitate disaster.
