Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/4/16

8/4 is the day of Earth Horse in the lunar month of Fire Monkey. This is a harmonious combination. It favors creativity and independence. It contains a Knife Blade, warning of anger and impulsiveness. It also contains Academic Nobleman Star, good for studies and turning difficult conditions around to advantage.
The day is designated inauspicious and close. It is called an emptiness day. Nothing major or unusual should be taken up today. It is a good day for finishing projects, however.
A close day is the close of a 12 day cycle. Qi is at its lowest point. It is not a good day for any major undertaking, but is good for meditating.
The lunar mansion this day is Jiao, the Horn. This is the first in the cycle of 28 lunar mansions. It is a positive and benefic star, denoting increased wealth.
Horse, the sign of this day, is the Star of Romance for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for romantic affairs. Resolve differences peacefully.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day for work, especially if you are finishing something.
Horse favors Dog, Tiger, Sheep, and Snake; is neutral toward Monkey, Rooster, Pig, Rabbit, and Dragon; and clashes with Horse, Rat, and Ox.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 52, line 6.

Hexagram 52 is Ken, Mountain. He keeps his back still like a mountain so he no longer feels his body. He goes into his courtyard and does not see anyone. No blame. This is a hexagram about meditation.

Line 6 The height of stillness. Good luck. The zodiac sign of line 6, Tiger, is strong by the element of the season, and, by the element of the hexagram, signifies power. Tiger is in harmony with the sign of the day, and clashes with the sign of the month. Surrounded by envy and gossip retire. The Earth of Earth Horse day puts a raven in line 6.
