Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 2/1/15
2/1 is the day of Earth Monkey in the lunar month of Fire Ox. This is a harmonious combination. It favors independence and expression of creative talent. Earth Monkey can run into trouble in relationships, but is smart and has the ability to misfortune to advantage. It also brings out the star Tien Yi who resolves predicaments and bestows good fortune.
Monkey is the Traveling Star for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this may be a busy day, good for travel, cleaning up your house or work place, and for making some progress in your career.
2/1, 2, and 3 are difficult days for people born in a year of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep to attend meetings or events. People could try to push you around or take unfair advantage of you. It is best to keep your own counsel. Wear something black to deflect shar (bad luck).
If you were born in a year of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for planning things out even if they cause conflict. Avoid fighting now.
For people born in a year or day of Snake, Horse, or Sheep, this is a good day to enjoy solitude; you can get a lot done if you do.
Monkey in general favors Monkey, Rat, Dragon, Rooster, and Dog; is neutral toward Ox, Rabbit, Horse, and Sheep; and difficult for Pig, Tiger, and Snake.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 28, line 4.
Hexagram 28 is Daguo, Preponderance of the Great, or Great Passing. The ridgepole sags to the breaking point. It is time for action. Success.
Line 4 If you don't exert independence, there will be humiliation. Rely on your talent and inspiration. The zodiac sign of line 4, Pig, is in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1, 2, and 6, clashes with the sign on the day, and is in harmony with the sign of the month. The Earth of Earth Monkey day puts a tortoise in line 4. If you rely on yourself and keep your own counsel, positively facing whatever difficulties that may appear, you can move forward successfully now.
The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Metal. Build your strength. Don't retreat. Retreat brings disaster.
