Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/9/15

1/9 is the day of Wood Rooster in the month of Fire Rat. This is a harmonious combination. It favors resourcefulness, independence, and the courage to stand up to challenges. The combination brings out the star Tien Yi. Tien Yi is a goddess whom demons flee. She clears up conflicts and gives good luck to those on the right side.
Rooster is the Star of Romance for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this is a good day for romantic interests.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for being proactive in your career.
Rooster gets along well with Ox, Snake, Monkey, Dragon, and sometimes Dog; neutrally with Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; and problematically with Rooster, Rabbit, and sometimes Dog.
The I Ching hexagram of this day, using the King Wen method, is number 1, line 6.

Hexagram 1 is Qian, Heaven, or The Creative. Heaven comprehends everything; it is all-inclusive. Success comes through persistence. This hexagram is good in winter.

Line 6 warns against arrogance and going to extremes. The zodiac sign of line 6, Dog, is in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1 and 4, in discord with the sign for the day, and in harmony with the sign for the month. If the aim is money, go forward. The Wood of Wood Rooster day puts a tortoise in line 6. Be cautious and beware of theft.

The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Metal, and Metal. The power of Metal is strong. Metal is cutting edge. Be mindful of boundaries.
